4th rural stint

Dear S,

If colours can describe the 4 locations I've been placed for the past 7 weeks, I could say the Green would be the colour best describe my current location. The town is wedged between two mountains, there's sugar cane and other plantation farms. I see clouds just above my head, and covering the mountains, as if I could touch them.
It has lesser support compare to the last placement, better than no support in my 2nd location. I'm staying in a moveable box, and realise that actually all I need for shelter is quite basic: A bed, a table, a closet, a toilet, a shower, and a TV. To be strict, some of the things mentioned here are considered luxurious. Probably with an add on kitchen, I would be ready to have the whole box moving with me wherever I'll be next year, without worrying to find a new rental place. That is if I have a land to move to though. Haha.
And back to the colours: I would say light green for my first placement, light yellow for my second, orangish brown for the 3rd, all mainly colour palate from the surrounding plants and lands of those locations.

Thank you, MY!

Dear MY,

Thank you for a wonderful day. It was fun, trying out the new breakfast place, walking down the city street, going to the museum which was surprisingly fun, walking along the windy beach, watched japanese drama, and of course had a great French dinner with you, and with K and R. Thank you for your company, even when you are obviously sick, and not on top of your form.
You are the greatest gift. And you deserve the very best in every way. You will.

Finished 3rd rural stint

Dear Z,

Finished 3rd rural stint yesterday. Went around and have a bit of sight seeing before I left the place.
Went up to the hill, watched "Real Steel" with 4 strangers, which was very entertaining. I couldn't contain myself from cheering and jumping on my seat for Atom, and Max is so cool and cute!
When I said my final goodbye, one of my colleague mentioned that I looked more relaxed now. Well, 3 days of rest, and 3 more weeks in the 4th location to go.
Visited a gold mine battery prior leaving. There's so much hard work in processing gold that one lady said that she appreciate more of her golden necklace now. People in the past are already really clever and remarkable, I wonder whether we have done them proud now with more advancement, or actually not much more.

目送

S,

Happy birthday!

Dear G,

Today, I'm thankful for the birthday wishes that I received. My current colleagues found out about my birthday, and threw me a kind-of surprise birthday morning tea gathering within an hour. MY and SF sent me sms birthday wishes. XR, YJ and D sent me Facebook birthday wishes message 2 days ago. M wrote me a letter telling me how she spent her year when she was at my current age, hinting that I should find someone soon.
And that's about it. Regretfully, nothing on Facebook at all, as a proof that switching off birthday notification, means that no one will really remember your birthday anymore by heart, as supposingly FB will remember it for you. Well, the truth hurts, but who cares about those who do not care.
I'm grateful for what I have. And I'm not going to moan over what I could have had. And as my eyes getting heavier, I hope tonight is a good quiet birthday night, for I'm on call tonight for work. The birthday is going to end in one hour time here anyway. Thank you love ones, I promise I'll become a better person.

p/s: 20/10/2011: Just found out that one of client I saw yesterday had the same birthday, and so was another client that I met last week. They are the 4th and 5th people I came across having the same birthday. Cool.
21/10/2011:Two facebook message, 1 msn message and 1 anonymous message. I'm getting obsessed of this.
22/10/2011: MY allowed me to have my way today, even when most of the time I'm still indecisive. Had a birthday dinner with her and K and R. It was surprisingly nice food. :) Cool. How long can this celebration last? Too long now. Haha.

48 hours weekend at work

Dear Y,

What a weekend! On call 48 hours, following normal working hours next day. Worked solo with constant workload from 8am-11pm for the 2 days with assistance from other teams and hence was mentally exhausted by 36 hours. All I want to do is just go home and sleep. Yet there are still things to do. As fatigue kicks in, the effectiveness gets sloppy, and I started to question the decision I made. I don't know how the others do it, but perhaps the more experience you are, the faster and more effective you work. Well, I got through it, and that's an achievement itself, hey!

Dear MY,

3rd rural stint

Dear Z,

Started my 3rd rural stint a week ago.
It is located in an ex-gold mining town and hence the architeture of buildings in the town and where I'm working are older and full of history.  There's better access to TV channels and assistance. The boss and colleagues are helpful and friendly, and the location is nearer to where the home base is, hence able to travel back over the weekends if I'm not working.
Like being able to blog here from home. I guess I have been so dependent on home internet, and without it, I felt I'm out of touch with the world. Since when we have been so dependent on internet that we are kind of addict to it? When we were young, there's no handphone, no internet, yet everyone still manage to keep in touch with each other, but probably not as fast and convenient though.
Anyway, another 3 weeks to go until the next location!
